FAQ

What Matters About a Person

Your worth as a human being isn't determined by who you love. What matters is:

  • Your character and integrity
  • Your contributions to society
  • Your skills and capabilities
  • How you treat other people
  • Your work ethic and professionalism

What doesn't matter:

  • Who you're attracted to
  • Who you love
  • Your gender identity
  • What consenting adults do in private

Sex Is Private

A person's sexuality should not be the defining factor of their identity or value to society. Private relationships between consenting adults are exactly that—private. Judge people by what they do and who they are, not by who they sleep with.

Equal Rights for All

LGBT Americans deserve the same rights, protections, and dignity as everyone else:

  • Employment protection — No one should be fired for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender
  • Housing protection — No one should be denied housing because of who they love
  • Freedom from violence — No one should face harassment or hate crimes
  • Equal treatment — Same rights in healthcare, education, and public accommodations
  • Right to love — Marriage equality and family recognition
  • Right to authenticity — Live as your true self without fear
"No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family."
— Justice Anthony Kennedy, Obergefell v. Hodges

Why This Matters

LGBT rights aren't "special rights"—they're equal rights. The same freedoms everyone else enjoys.

Simple principle: If someone is a good employee, good neighbor, good citizen, and good person—who they love is irrelevant. Focus on what actually matters.

💡 Remember

Love is love. Families come in all forms. What matters is treating every person with dignity and respect—regardless of who they love. This isn't political—it's basic human decency.
